Protecting Political Dissent
PSS is committed to protecting political dissent and defending the right of people to speak out against injustice across Alabama. Through grassroots organizing, public education, and policy advocacy, we work to challenge anti-protest legislation and attacks on free expression that disproportionately target Black communities, students, organizers, and movements for social change. Our work focuses on monitoring harmful legislation, mobilizing communities to take action, and advocating for policies that protect the constitutional rights of protesters and organizers. We believe that dissent is not a threat to democracy, but that it is essential to it. From the streets to the State House, Project Say Something is building power to ensure that every Alabamian has the freedom to organize, protest, and demand justice without fear of criminalization or repression.
