Kneeling Protestors

PUBLIC POLICY AGENDAS

Project Say Something doesn’t just raise awareness—we actively change the system. By blending grassroots activism with policy advocacy, we confront oppressive symbols and laws, build coalitions to reshape childcare and reproductive policies, protect civic rights, and empower communities through education. Our policy work centers on dismantling anti-Black systems and patriarchy, advocating for justice through direct action, legislation, and community empowerment.

At a time when Alabama has passed sweeping restrictions on public DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs—banning state-funded initiatives and censuring curriculum that includes “divisive concepts” like the history of slavery and systemic racism—Project Say Something (PSS) remains unwavering in its commitment to inclusion and anti-racism.

Through rallies, legal challenges, and community organizing, Project Say Something leads the No More Shrines to White Supremacy campaign—demanding the removal or contextualization of Confederate monuments and symbols across Alabama. Our goal is clear: end the glorification of oppression and create public spaces that honor truth and justice.

Through research, community organizing, and direct advocacy, we work to address systemic issues like childcare inequities, maternal health disparities, and the impact of state policies on vulnerable families. Our goal is to advance family justice by ensuring every child and caregiver has the safety, resources, and support they need to thrive.
