ELECTION MATERIALS
Black Americans have fought for generations to secure the right to vote, facing brutal barriers like slavery, Jim Crow laws, literacy tests, poll taxes, and violent intimidation meant to silence their voices. Even after the Voting Rights Act of 1965, efforts to restrict access—through voter ID laws, purges, and reduced polling locations—have continued to challenge full participation. Voting today is more than a civic duty; it is a continuation of that long struggle for equality and justice. Every ballot cast honors those who risked and lost their lives for this very right. Today, voting remains one of the most powerful tools to shape policies, protect rights, and ensure that every community is represented.
