In light of recent events in the Florence community, and in celebration of our country’s founding values, Project Say Something will host a Candlelight Vigil for Racial Justice at the steps of the Lauderdale County Courthouse on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30 pm.
The Vigil seeks to draw attention to racial disparities in the justice system, including race-based jury selection and unfair sentencing practices. All members of the Shoals community are encouraged to attend.
Project Say Something will also host a panel discussion on racial justice that addresses these topics the following week on Monday, July 11 at 6:30 pm at 116 E. Mobile St.
Please join us as we band together as a community and dedicate ourselves to social justice and greater equity in our court system.
